Membership of the CAIB is open to all banks in the Caribbean region or any country that is a member of CARICOM which have a majority ownership by the people and/or Governments of the Caribbean or CARICOM member states.
"Bank" means a financial institution incorporated for the purpose of conducting banking as its main business and includes Commercial Banks, Merchant Banks, Mortgages Banks and Development Banks, as well as Trust Companies and Leagues of Credit Unions.
Banks not meeting these criteria may qualify for associate membership as opposed to full membership.
Membership is in the name of the bank which is usually represented by its Chief Executive Officer.
In order for applications to be considered the following information must be submitted to the CAIB Secretariat in Castries,
Saint Lucia.

Memorandum & Articles of Association or Charter, as applicable.

Certificate of Registration or Incorporation.

Particulars of Shareholding.

Audited Financial Statements for the financial year immediately preceding the financial year in which the application is made.

Application or Registration Fee of US$250.

New members are admitted by election at the Executive Committee which meets three or four times each year.

The officials also have the ability to update, re-write or introduce procedures manuals. Business Process Re-engineering Services through professionals with regional and international banking backgrounds, who examine your processes and procedures, and recommend the implementation of changes aimed at cost savings, improved levels of efficiency, and most of all enhanced customer service.
