ABI Bank Ltd., formerly Antigua Barbuda Investment Bank Ltd. celebrated its 16th anniversary in March 2006.   ABI is a member of the progressive ABI Financial Group, a diverse organization whose companies specialize in domestic and international banking, trusts, investments, insurance, real estate development and tourism.  The bank’s mission statement states that “ABI Bank Ltd is committed to maximizing benefits and opportunities accruing to our shareholders by providing creative, innovative and competitive products and services while capitalizing on our relationships with our local, regional and international affiliates.” The Bank operates from (3) branches Redcliffe Street, Woods and Jolly Harbor, has (6) ATM’s and a staff complements of (107). ABI has fast become a household name in Antigua & Barbuda, and continues to expand by deepening its roots within home markets while exploring opportunities abroad.  The registered Principals in its investment department were the first in the OECS region to be licensed to trade on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE).  Through its subsidiaries, ABI is the first OECS institution to venture into the US financial market with the establishment of the Florida-based ASD Brokerage and Investment Inc., which provides investment advice and broker/dealer services. ABIB’s directors take seriously their corporate responsibility and contribute generously to the economic, social and cultural development of the nation.   This is reflected in the Bank’s five Eastern Caribbean Central Bank awards for Best Corporate Citizen and Good Corporate Citizen among commercial banks in the OECS, in the last three years.  ABI’s asset base as at September 2005 was US$240.77 million.

Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB) was incorporated in 1955 with a share capital of EC$100,000. It is the country's first indigenous bank and public company.  ACB is well known for its role in assisting local entrepreneurs and small business people. Its subsidiary, ACB Mortgage and Trust Company Ltd, is the largest indigenous provider of mortgage finance in the island. ACB aims "to be the best financial services provider, creating wealth for its customers, investors, staff and communities both regionally and beyond ". The Bank operates (2) branches and (2) agencies and has the largest network of Automated Teller Machines on the island (8). ACB’s staff complement is (110) and it is one of the largest indigenous commercial banks in Antigua & Barbuda with an asset size of US$253 million as at September 2005.

Bank of Antigua was incorporated in February 1981 and began operations in November 1981. The bank was acquired by the Stanford Financial Group in December of 1990, and operates three (3) strategically located branches, a mobile unit, and (4) ATMs. The bank is currently staffed by a complement of (97) employees, and its mission statement is: “To provide the most friendly and efficient banking services to customers, and to achieve continued growth and profitability”. Its asset base was US$161 million as at December 2005.

Caribbean Union Bank Ltd. was incorporated in Antigua on 24th August 2004 under the Companies Act of Antigua and Barbuda No. 18 of 1995 and was granted a Domestic Banking license on September 1st 2005. The Banks currently operates from (1) branch at its Friars Hill address where it also has (2) ATM's on site, a third ATM is on order for another branch in Jolly Harbour scheduled to be opened within the first half of 2007. CUB currently employs (13) persons including the management team of three. The Bank has (1) operational branch at the above listed. CUB aim is to “embrace the vision of a unified Caribbean economy and strive for excellence in financial services to support regional development and create Caribbean wealth. Global Bank of Commerce Ltd (GBC) is a locally owned and operated institution that has provided international financial services from Antigua since April, 1983. It hosts strong technology driven services, including internet banking, U.S. Dollar Demand Deposit Accounts, Electronic Commerce facilities and Prepaid Card Services. The Bank embraces the vision that it can provide globally competitive financial services products, regardless of its size and geographic location.
